WLPGA Climate Change Working Group

Since the ratification of the Kyoto Protocol in February 2005, the issue of global climate change has become an issue of concern in the eyes of the general public around the world. In recognition of the global interest surrounding this issue and the positive role that WLPGA members can play, the WLPGA set up the Climate Change Working Group (CCWG) to coordinate and highlight industry efforts, positions and communications on this priority subject.

LP Gas and Climate Change

The LP Gas industry can make significant and immediate contributions to delivering real Green House Gas reductions as it has lower greenhouse gas emissions than any other fossil fuel when measured on a total fuel cycle even if it is not a zero Green House Gas fuel. It is also clean burning and originates mainly from natural gas production. LP Gas is non-toxic and will not contaminate soil or aquifers in the event of a leak.
The CCWG primary goal is to help policy makers and the general public recognizes the potential benefits of using LP Gas in all its applications. It therefore represents the interests of the industry in the evolution of legislation dealing with climate change on an international basis.
