About This Questionnaire
The World LP Gas Association, through its GLOTEC network, is in the process of developing a Global LP Gas Technology Roadmap. The overall goal of the roadmapping effort is to identify promising areas of technology collaboration that will benefit the global LP Gas industry. This questionnaire is intended to solicit industry views on the future of the LP Gas industry. Your responses to this questionnaire will be combined with those of your peers to create a vision of the LP Gas industry in 2020. This vision forms the “destination” for the Global LP Gas Roadmap. Therefore, your responses are a critical input to the roadmapping process.

The following table may be helpful in framing your thinking about the global LP Gas industry. The industry is characterized by significant differences, based on the economic development of the region and the market segment under consideration. Please download the table here.
TRENDS SHAPING THE GLOBAL LP GAS INDUSTRY: 2010-2020
Please first consider the LP Gas industry in geographical terms, which often correlate with various levels of market maturity.
1. What trends will have the greatest influence on the global LP Gas industry over the next 10 years?
2. What trends will have the greatest influence on the LP Gas industry in developed economies over the next 10 years?
3. What trends will have the greatest influence on the LP Gas industry in economies emerging and in transition over the next 10 years?
Now please consider the LP Gas from a market segment perspective. For the purposes of this questionnaire, major market segments include: (1) residential/domestic, (2) industrial/ commercial/agricultural, and (3) engine-driven (autogas and power).
4. What trends will have the greatest influence on the global residential/domestic market segment? How will these trends differ in developed economies versus developing/transitioning economies?
5. What trends will have the greatest influence on the global industrial/ commercial/ agricultural market segment? How will these trends differ in developed economies versus developing/transitioning economies?
6. What trends will have the greatest influence on the global engine-driven (Autogas and power generation) segment? How will these trends differ in developed economies versus developing/transitioning economies?
Now please consider the LP Gas industry itself.
7. What trends will have the greatest influence on how the global LP Gas industry operates its processes and businesses over the next 10 years? Issues to consider include storage, handling and distribution, and packaging (cylinders and tanks), as well as corporate social responsibility initiatives.
VISION OF THE GLOBAL LP GAS INDUSTRY IN 2020
8. Please describe your vision of the LP Gas industry in 2020. This vision should be an aspiration rather than a prediction. That is, please describe the industry as you feel it should or must appear in 2020, rather than attempting to predict how it will appear. If your vision is specific to developing or developed economies or specific market segments, please indicate so. You may prefer to offer a holistic vision or a series of attributes the industry will possess in 2020; either form of response is welcome.

9. In thinking of your vision of the LP Gas industry in 2020, what technological advances will be required to achieve this vision? Please be as specific as possible in your response and, if appropriate, specific which market segment the technological advance targets and/or the region(s) affected.
