Autogas use is Growing in Spain!

Since Monday 16th November, Madrid City has 5 new UVI mobile ambulances running on Autogas.

On a gasoline engine basis, these MERCEDES BENZ vehicles are equipped with LPG kits that allow them to use LPG and therefore to generate important savings on NOx, particles and CO2 emmissions versus conventional diesel ambulances. The Major of Madrid City, Alberto Ruiz-Gallardón, introduced these new vehicles owned by the public municipal health emergency service (SAMUR) to the press. These vehicles will immediately enter into service, reducing the environmental footprint of this public service, thanks to this technology supported by REPSOL. In the Major´s own words: "These ambulances will contribute to make Madrid cleaner and more sustainable, making the city be Europe´s pioneer in the accomplishment of the environmental regulations". Please download a report on this issue here and video report here.

This is a very important step for the development of Autogas in Spain where there are already about 40 ambulances running on Autogas.
