Welcome to the NEW Format of Autogas Updates!

Read the first edition here in HTML format or here for PDF version
Previous editions of Autogas Updates were published in hard copy. The new editions will be available electronically and posted on the www.worldlpgas.com website. This will enable us to respond quickly to market developments. It will also allow Autogas Updates to be downloaded conveniently from a pdf file.
We understand the need for this type of publication to help our members keep abreast of autogas news from around the world. As the global voice of the LP Gas business, the WLPGA is pleased to be able to meet those needs. Technology allows us to be far more reactive and in a much more cost effective way.
The Autogas business is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing in the LP Gas industry and there are so many interesting developments to be shared. Changing government policies…new Autogas vehicles…new initiatives…new equipment…interesting market developments…these are some of the topics that we will be aiming to cover in this and future editions.
The global autogas industry is now a 20MT business spread all over the world. In 2008, ten countries consumed nearly three quarters of the global autogas volumes
However it is not just the countries depicted in the chart that are driving autogas development.
Other countries are discovering that autogas can make a massive contribution to improving air quality, combat global warming with lower CO2 emissions and provide motorists with a convenient, economic and clean alternative to the two main transportation fuels, gasoline and diesel.
One of the articles in this first edition covers the story of how autogas was introduced in Bangladesh, a country with a strong CNG vehicle population.
The Global Autogas Industry Network group (GAIN) is one of the WLPGA’s most active groups and continually seeks ways to develop autogas as the third transportation fuel.
Inigo Palacio Prada of Repsol is the current Chairman of GAIN and is passionate about making autogas the preferred choice third fuel. This edition includes a story of how Repsol is developing the autogas business in Spain.
We plan to publish Autogas Updates at least every two months. Please send us any news on developments, announcements and stories in your markets relating to autogas and we will try and keep everyone informed through this publication.
