| |  | | LP Gas: Healthy Energy for a Changing World
Replacing open fires that use solid fuels for cooking in developing countries with simple modern stoves, using LP Gas for example, would massively reduce premature deaths from respiratory illness and lead to a saving to society equivalent to US$91bn a year, a study by the WLPGA has found.
In developed countries much of the air pollution by particulates comes from motor vehicle exhausts, and the health consequences are estimated to impact the European Union economy alone by up to US$217bn a year, or roughly 2% of EU Gross Domestic Product.

An exciting new industry brand "Exceptional Energy" was unveiled at the European Annual LP Gas Congress held in Vienna from 13-15 May 2009. This project was sponsored by six European LP Gas industry players - BP, Repsol, Shell, SHV Gas, TOTAL and UGI.
